Announces Rs 10 lakh to Drama Club of Phinter to create durable assets

A programme to facilitate teachers who maintain self-discipline, commitment and dedication towards their profession was organized today at Phinter of tehsil Billawar in which Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh was the chief guest. The programme was organized by Dogra Foundation, New Delhi on the eve of Teachers Day.
Several teachers from Billawar and surrounding areas were facilitated by Deputy CM who hailed the role of teachers in guiding and instilling values, brotherhood and humanity among the students. “Teachers help in guiding and moulding the students to become future citizens of the country,” he said and further stated: “If you think you know everything, you immediately stop to learn. For a teacher, everyday is a learning day and the process of learning is never ending.” He also emphasized upon equal, inclusive and inculcation of values based education as a bedrock for strong nation building.
While addressing a huge gathering, Deputy CM said the nation is going through a very important phase of transition to become a world leader and in this phase, the role of teacher is very important and lot of responsibilities lay on their shoulders. He further appealed them to highlight all the welfare schemes of Central as well as State dispensation as teachers hold special status in their society and everybody listen to them seriously.
At the outset, Deputy CM announced that the present State dispensation is pondering to accord district status to Billawar besides a proposal for SDPO, Billawar was also submitted to the Government. He also underlined several key projects for Billawar viz. University Campus for which land has been identified and construction work will soon begin, Transformer repair workshop worth Rs. 1 Crore and 70 lakh, Auditorium at Ramkot school, PHE schemes under NABARD for uncovered hamlets, spending 4 crore on revamping PDD infra and alignment of Delhi – Katra Expressway through Billawar will prove to be a game changer in making Billawar a model and developed constituency with all the modern facilities in education, health and sports sector. He also announced Rs 10 lakh from his CDF to the Drama Club of Phinter to create durable assets.
Stressing on the potential of religious tourism in Billawar, the Deputy CM said that Sukrala Mata Temple, Garhi and historical Shiv Mandir can be developed as religious tourist circuit and informed that widening of Sukrala Mata road will soon commence. To further enhance the connectivity scenario of Billawar 21 roads are being constructed under PMGSY. To give boost to industries Dr Singh said that 1500-2000 kanals of land has been referred to industries department near Bheeni River but several other facilities are also required for the establishment of industries, he added.
Dr Nirmal Singh urged the members of civil society, teachers and officers to highlight all the welfare schemes so that the last person standing in the queue of social class can be benefitted.
Later, Dr Singh laid foundation stone for construction of 2.5 km road from Lower Bajwal to Sitla Mata Ji via Middle School Rampur to be executed by PWD(R&B) Department with an estimated cost of Rs 2 crore 50 lakhs.
A public grievance redressal camp was also held at lower Bajwal where
Nirmal Singh took stock of problems being faced by the people and assured them of resolving their issues on priority.
During the camp ADC Billawar, Joginder Singh Rai told the gathering that the services of Government Department which are under the ambit of Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA) must be delivered by the designated officers to the eligible persons of the State within the specified time limit otherwise stern action will be taken.
