Arora discuss problems of students with VC

In a meeting held between MLC Ramesh Arora (Adv.) and Vice-Chancellor, Jammu University, Prof. R.D. Sharma, both discussed the existing problems of students and issues related to University of Jammu. During discussions Ramesh Arora told the VC that area under possession of army adjoining University campus will be handed over to University without further delay as the matter was raised by him in Legislative Council and the government had assured to get area vacated for expansion of Jammu University, which is need of the hour. Arora further assured that matter about remaining portion under possession of army used as transit camp will be sorted out and he will get it decided shortly after discussing the matter with concerned authorities.
Arora also took up the issue of the non-admission of few students belonging to different regions of the state due to various reasons and stressed upon the VC for solving their problems. He also discussed the issue of starting mass communication classes in JU as it is a subject of prime importance and can shape the future of state also. VC told the MLC that the matter is already sent to the state government and is under its consideration.
Prof. R.D. Sharma pointed out that the university require more space for developing more infrastructure for university.
Arora suggested that a multi storey parking be established within the premises of the University for the convenience of students and officials of the university. In this regard, he assured all possible assistance from the concerned quarters. “Jammu University should be an autonomous institution in financial matters and for that purpose it has to track a long distance because everybody knows that increase in fee structure or other payments to be made by the students will invite resentment”, Arora said and added that the students should provide a friendly atmosphere in the university so that they study in healthy environment.
