BJP is mission to serve the nation: Khanna

Addressing party activists at party headquarter, BJP National Vice-President & J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna said that during the last 37 years, the party has gone through various stages of ups and downs and finally emerged as world’s largest political party.
The party activists had assembled to celebrate the Foundation Day of the party, where Khanna, alongwith BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma (CA), Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, Zonal General Secretary (Organization) North-East States Ajay Jamwal, MoS Education Priya Sethi, MLC Ashok Khajuria, State General Secretary Dr. Narinder Singh and other senior leaders unfurled the party flag and later addressed them.
Avinash Rai Khanna said that the present day banyan tree of BJP had its seeds sown in 1980 with well thought ideology and principles focussed on to reach the last man in the row. Mission to serve the society and the nation has earned BJP the honour of being called as party with a difference having no compromise on the basic principles. He quoted some major developments which took place during the last over three decades and strengthened the party by taking its roots to every nook and corner of the country. He also spoke on the people and nation friendly programmes launched by the BJP governments at the Centre, first under Atal Behari Vajpayee and now under Narendra Modi and asked the party activists to devote more time and reach the people in far flung and remote areas to educate them about the good governance and corruption free administration under PM Narendra Modi.
Sat Sharma, while greeting the party activists for the successful journey of BJP, said that the basic principle of the party is nation first, party second and self last. He recalled that in early post independence period, all the nationalists felt the dire need of a strong opposition, which could raise the issues of national interest with force and press for the public friendly policies. It was then Pt. Deen Dayal Updahayay, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, with the help of other nationalists, laid the base of the Jana Sangh, which later gave birth to the present day BJP. It is due to the hard work of every activist of the BJP that today it is in power at Centre and in the 16 other states. He stressed upon the party activists to be more pro-active and develop direct public contact to carry forward the vision of Narendra Modi. He asked the party leaders to take pledge to work selflessly for the nation as a whole.
Kavinder Gupta recalled the days of hardships faced during the emergency, how there was a socio-political vandalism by the Congress, but still nationalist leaders survived and worked to rise from mere two members towards a two-third majority.
Zonal General Secretary (Organization) North-East States Ajay Jamwal, while congratulating the party for victory in Manipur said that after winning an election, we must not take rest but rather work more vigorously to make deeper inroads into the hearts of public, by reaching out to the developmental works and their needs.
