A deputation of Senior Party’s workers led by Dev Raj Sharma BJP State Working Committee Member and Incharge Darhal Constituency met BJP National Vice-President, Vice-Chairman Indian Red Cross Society & Prabhari J&K State along with BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma to present their issues in front of them.
Deputation discussed the issue of reservation of Panchyat and Panch wards for schedule tribes in Rajouri and Poonch district where more than 75% of Panch wards and more than 70% Panchayat (Sarpanch) is reserved for schedule tribe people. Further the deputation discussed that most of the Panchayats are reserved for ST category where population of other categories are also equal in ratio than ST, which is discrimination with other communities. The deputation appealed the senior leaders to look into the matter and take necessary steps before the issuance of notification of Panchayati elections.
The deputation also discussed about the reservation for the Pahari speaking people of J&K who were fighting for their rights from last 30 years in the state. The deputation said that Parhari speaking people of J&K are socially economically and educationally backward and following same life style as the other tribes of J&K are following. The deputation strongly demands ST status for Parhari speaking people.
Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna gave patient hearing to the issues put forth by the deputation and said that the BJP leadership is committed to erase any type of discrimination being faced by any community at any level. He said that the PM Modi has always strived for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden that have been left out by the successive previous Congress led Governments and assured that every effort will be done to address the genuine aspirations of the people represented by the deputation, while laying the stress on “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas”.
Sat Sharma also interacted with the deputation and appreciated their concern for the general masses. He said that BJP has led the state on the developmental path and the alliance government has many achievements in its kitty focussed on the growth of the last man living in the most difficult of the circumstances on the principle of “Antodya”. He assured them that the party has taken due cognizance of their concerns.
