Dialogue only with real stake holders: BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party is fully committed to the final resolution of Kashmir issue as stated by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, said Brig Anil Gupta, State Spokesperson of BJP in a press statement issued here today. The party is also aware of the fact that a meaningful dialogue with all real stake holders is also needed but the question is as to who are the real stake holders, questioned Brig Gupta.

Taking note of the statement made by Sartaj Madani, Vice President of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in which he has recommended dialogue with all stake holders including Hurriyat and Pakistan, Brig. Gupta said that the Bharatiya Janata Party does not consider these two as the real stake holders. Hurriyat has been exposed thoroughly wherein it has been established that its leaders are on the pay rolls of Pakistan and that country has been funding the Hurriyat for fomenting trouble in Kashmir. How can an outfit which has been responsible for killing of Kashmiris at the behest of an enemy nation be a stake holder in bringing back normalcy in Kashmir is a question every responsible citizen of this state is asking? Moreover, the Hurriyat leaders have openly defied the Constitution of India and questioned the state’s integration with India and raised the demand for Azadi, thus resorting to anti-national activities. Hurriyat, therefore, cannot be considered as a stake holder by any means.

Brig Gupta also drew the attention of PDP leader to the Agenda of Alliance which does not make any reference to talks with Hurriyat by the coalition government. Under the heading “Political Initiatives”, Para 3 of Page 7 of the Agenda of Alliance quotes, “the Coalition government will facilitate and help initiate a sustained and meaningful dialogue with all internal stake holders, which will include all political groups irrespective of their ideological views and predilections. This dialogue will seek to build a broad based consensus on resolution of all outstanding issues of J&K”. Where is Hurriyat mentioned in this, reiterated the spokesperson?

As far Pakistan is concerned, it is responsible for spreading terror in Kashmir and for financing the ongoing turmoil. How can a perpetuator be a stake holder lamented Brig Gupta? In any case the stand of the Modi government on this is absolutely clear, “Talks and terror cannot go together”, said Brig Gupta. Modi-led BJP government is determined to restore normalcy in Kashmir but will not give in to violence and Pak sponsored terror, asserted the spokesperson.
