Dozens of unemployed Sikh youth calls on Sh. Balbir Ram Rattan

Led by BJP Minority Morcha State General Secretary S. Gurdyal Singh Bali, dozens of unemployed Sikh youth called on Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited, Vice-Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, to seek details related to grant of financial assistance in the form of loan under Minorities category.

They held a meeting at Corporation Head office, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, with the Vice-Chairperson, who shared various schemes of the Corporation being run for the benefit of the unemployed persons belonging to the reserved categories like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Physically Disabled, National Level Notified Minorities and Safai Karamchari.

Sh. Balbir Ram Rattan told them that the Corporation is provided funds by the National Minorities Finance & Development Corporation (NMFDC), an Apex Corporation in the Union Government, for the benefits of National Level Notified Minorities, which include, Muslims, Sikhs, Jains, Christians, Parsis and Buddhists. Any unemployed persons from among these categories can avail the loans to set up earning units and stand up on own instead of becoming burden on parents. He further told them that the Corporation has its offices in every district of Jammu and Kashmir and whosoever wants to get loan, can apply through his nearest district.

S. Gurdyal Singh Bali and others informed the VC that a large per cent among Sikhs is unemployed and expressed hope that they will be benefitted by the financial assistance from the Corporation. They also suggested the VC to organise open awareness camps in remote and far flung areas of the State.

Prominent among those who called on the Vice Chairperson included S. Randhir Singh Bali, S. Bikram Singh Sodhi, S. Harbinder Singh, S. Ashok Singh, S. Inderjeet Singh, S. Ravinder Singh, S. Sukhvinder Singh, S. Tony Singh, S. Kapildeep Singh, S. Gagandeep Singh and S. R.P Singh
