Dr Singh lays foundation of Tourist Hut at Kranwara

Measures afoot to boost tourism: DyCM

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh laid foundation of tourist hut at Kranwara in district Kathua today. CEO Lakhanpur-Sarthal Development Authority Dr Bharat Bushan and other senior officers were present on the occasion. The tourist hut would be having three rooms equipped with all the modern facilities and is a step towards augmenting tourist infrastructure in the area. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Government is committed to boost tourism infrastructure in the State by augmenting the tourist facilities and other related things. He said that several historic initiatives have already been undertaken and many more are on the anvil. Dr Singh said that Bani Basohli areas of the Kathua district are having huge potential of tourism, adventure sports and related activities and steps are underway to bring the area on the tourist map of the country. He said measures are underway to upgrade the existing infra and create new assets to provide every facility to the tourists visiting the areas. He further said that in near future a community hall would also be constructed in Kranwara area which would be replete with all the modern facilities for community and other related functions. He said that the Government has already put in place a mechanism for ensuring the accelerated development of rural and far flung areas of the State. Dr Singh also reviewed the functioning of various departments like PDD, PHE, R&B and directed the officers to ensure that people get the proper delivery of all the essentials. He said that officers should maintain a close liaison with the people of the area so that the day to day problems are redressed within the shortest possible time besides the pace of developmental activities also get speeded up. The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the pace of his ancestral school being upgraded on the model basis with an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh which were provided by MP Shamsher Singh Manhas out of MPLAD funds. He directed for the early completion of the school, which would ensure that quality educational facilities are provided to the students of the area.
