DyCM for taking all stakeholders on board to ensure peace

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh called upon the officers of civil and police administration of Udhampur district to take all necessary measures for ensuring peace and tranquility in the district. While chairing a meeting of officers, here today which was convened to review the security scenario in Udhampur district, Deputy Chief Minister said that some unscrupulous forces are out to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in State and it is the duty of administration to keep close watch on such elements and thwart any such attempt. He directed the officers of the police and civil administration to maintain close contact with all sections of the society, including heads of religious/social organizations to ensure peace at all costs in the district. He directed them to sternly deal with rumor mongers and take appropriate measures to maintain communal harmony and mutual brotherhood in the area. Maintaining that peace is imperative to ensure overall development and implementation of various welfare programmes in the State, Dr Singh said that all out efforts will be made to ensure peace and tranquility in the State. He also directed officers to speed up the pace of development and complete all on-going projects in the district in a time bound manner. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to constantly monitor the progress of development programmes to ensure the quality of works and timely completion of projects. The Deputy Chief Minister also appealed people to join hands in strengthening the Government’s resolve for ensuring sustained peace and development in the State, adding that we should collectively synergize our efforts for ushering an era of peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir which has remained apathy of successive Governments. The people of the State have already suffered a lot due to militancy and other reasons for the past over three decades, therefore, it is the high time to focus on the development of all regions of the State, he said, adding “we have got a golden opportunity to contribute for the development of State as Central Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is so much concerned and liberal in providing funds to upgrade the outlived infrastructure and restoring lasting peace and tranquility in the State”. District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, DIG, SSPUdhampur and district officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
