Jammu heading to be education hub: Dr Narinder

BJP State General Secretary Dr. Narinder Singh, while terming the recent approval of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for Jammu by the Union Cabinet as one more milestone in the upgradation of Education Sector in winter capital, said that it indicates the concern of Narendra Modi-led NDA government for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that it is indeed the reflection of Modi government’s seriousness towards providing best educational institution for technical & professional courses to the students of this border state so that the state is firmly put on the path of industrialization and technological progress. Out of total six sanctioned IITs, Jammu has been chosen for setting up of one IIT, which is indeed a great blessing by Modi government for the entire state.
Dr. Narinder Singh said that the NDA government under the stewardship of Narendra Modi at the Centre has sanctioned a number of prestigious institutions for Jammu, including AIIMS, within a short period of two years, which it has completed today. He said that Jammu has not been only bestowed with world class educational institutions but the Union government has sanctioned a number of other projects for expansion of road connectivity, upgradation and modernization of Railway station, extending rail link to far flung areas, recruitment for IRP battalion with provision of reservation for border youth and so on.
As for the PDP-BJP coalition in Jammu & Kashmir, various developmental projects and welfare schemes have been launched in Jammu on the instance of BJP. “Development of River Tawi on the pattern of Sabarmati will boost tourism besides creating means of employment for youth”, Narinder said and added that the phenomenal improvement in quality of macadamization of roads under the present coalition government itself stand testimony to the fact that BJP wants Jammu to be modern and live able city. The past practice of putting just a veneer of macadamization on the city roads which would not stand one monsoon has been totally done away with.
Dr. Narinder Singh further added that moves are afoot to make Jammu Smart City having quality roads, being educational and sports hub and a high class tourist destination on the pattern of Sabarmati city.
The recent announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of economic package of Rs. 80,000 crore for J&K state coupled with the various specially sanctioned educational institutions and other largesses are indicative of the fact that BJP is committed for the progress and prosperity of the Jammu and of the entire state
