Jugal reviews implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes

Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, convened a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee to review the physical and financial progress made by different departments under various centrally sponsored schemes during 2016 -2017 in the district. Threadbare discussion was held on physical and financial achievements of various centrally sponsored schemes besides deliberating on certain bottlenecks in the way of effective implementation of these schemes. MP took a detailed review of the schemes with special emphasis on MGNREGA, NRLM, DDUDJY, PMGSY, IAY, NSAP, PMAY, SBM, NRDWP, PMKSY, SSA, RMSA, ICDS, CMDU, PMUY etc. Assistant Commissioner Development informed that under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act against an approved outlay of Rs. 7066.04 lakh Rs. 3200 lakh have been released out of which Rs.3131 lakh have been spent till date. As far as the physical achievements under this scheme are concerned out of 2902 projects 1391 have been competed till date and work is in progress on the rest of 1511 projects. Besides, in convergence with the other departments an amount of Rs. 1852.68 lakh has been spent on completion of 849 works. Similarly, under Pardhan Mantri Gram Sarak Yojana against a proposed outlay of Rs. 6800 lakh Rs. 940 lakh have been released, out of which Rs. 654 lakh have been spent till date. Besides, 25 habitations have been taken up for road connectivity during this financial year out of which three habitations have been fully connected while the work on rest of habitations is going on in full swing. Member Parliament, who is also chairman of DDCMC Rajouri, stressed on the officers to work with a missionary spirit to achieve optimum benefit of these schemes. He asked all the officers to expedite execution of ongoing developmental works so that the people of the area could be benefitted. He underscored the need for laying focused attention on improvement of road connectivity, drinking water, power supply and health care facilities. He asked the officers to work in close coordination so that the bottleneck, if any could be removed and these schemes are implemented effectively. The MP asked the officers to make frequent visits to far off areas so that the problems of people could be addressed at their door steps. Vice Chairman Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, MLAs Ch Qammer Hussain and Ravinder Raina, MLC Vibodh Gupta, District Development Commissioner, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Additional District Development Commissioner, G S Chib, Executive Engineer of PDD PHE and PWD besides all other district officers were present in the meeting.
