Kavinder terms J&K “Unique Bouquet of Religions”:

Taking forward the initiative of people to People contact and reaching at their doorsteps, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta held various public meetings today in his constituency.

The Speaker attended public meetings at Digiana, Qasim Nagar, Channi Rama, Channi Himmat, Gangyal and satwari.

He was accompanied by SDM South, Sonu Pargal, Tehsildar South, Anil Magotra, Xen JMC, S.K Wali, Xen UEED, Rajan Sharma, Baldev Billoria, Vinay Gupta, Harbans Chowdhary, Ankush Gupta, Kulbir Charak, Dalbir Singh, Harbajan Singh and other prominent citizens.

He interacted with the locals at these places and held point by point discussions pertaining to the problems faced by them. The people of the area gave several suggestions regarding the day to day issues faced by them and offered their full support to the local legislator.

The Speaker also inaugurated several development works at Channi Rama and Channi Himmat. He kick started the work for blacktopping of the road opposite Railway crossing along with the remodeling of drains in the area.

While inaugurating these works, the Speaker informed that development works amounting to crores of rupees have been inaugurated in Channi Himmat and other areas and several others are in pipeline in order to face lift the Gandhi Nagar constituency.

Talking to the people of Digiana Camp, majority of whom belongs to Sikh community; he termed J&K as the “Unique Bouquet of Religions” and said that despite practicing and belonging to different school of religious teachings, the people of the state show causes a strong bond of religious harmony and brotherhood.

The Speaker assured the people and said that municipal corporation has been directed to organize cleanliness drive in every ward of Jammu along with awareness camps to educate the people for proper segregation and dumping of the waste material.
