Kohli inaugurates veterinary dispensary at Chadwal

Minister for Sheep and Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli inaugurated veterinary dispensary at Chadwal, Kathua. MLA Hiranagar, Kuldeep Raj was also present on the occasion. Constructed by the Animal Husbandry Department at a cost of Rs. 12.70 lakh, the dispensary will cater to healthcare needs of about ten thousand livestock of three panchayats of the area. Speaking on the occasion, Kohli stated that ten more such centres are in pipeline in the district, of which, two are almost complete and will be inaugurated soon. He also distributed cheques of Rs. 10,000 each among fifty beneficiaries for establishing their own dairy farms under centrally sponsored schemes of SC to SP. The Minister exhorted upon the functionaries to come to the expectations of the people by providing them adequate medicare for their livestock. He also stressed for providing better services to nomads so that they may not suffer any difficulty on this account. He said that dereliction of duty by the officials or officers will not be tolerated. Later, the Minister inspected poultry and fishery farms at Kathua and directed the concerned authorities to maintain proper cleanliness in and around these units which is pre-requisite for getting optimum benefit from these farms. Prominent among others present were Director Animal Husbandry, Dr. S. L Bhagat, Director Sheep Husbandry, Sant Ram Sharma, Director Fisheries, R.K Dogra, members of ST Advisory Board, Choudhary Haroon and Yusuf Khan, Sardar Khan, officers of various departments, Sarpanches and Panches of the area.
