Literature, art portrays Kashmiri women bravest in world: Yudhvir Sethi

Vistaraks making presence felt in Kashmir

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Vice President Yudhvir Sethi at Lalpura in Tangmarg (Gulmarg Constituency) said that three years of corruption free government both in the state and at Centre coupled with sincerest efforts to restore peace in Jammu and Kashmir and mega developmental plans undertaken all over the country have given enough reasons to Vistaraks to go amongst people at grass root levels and place before them schemes aimed at bringing in a sea change in their lives.

Addressing Vistaraks during mass contact programme at Gulmarg, Yudhvir Sethi said it was because of corruption, nepotism and favoritism unleashed by previous governments that people had lost faith in the system. Now that nothing sort of that system of governance is persisting anywhere, commoners’ trust in government stands restored. A number of schemes have especially been floated for women only and that is the reason our sisters and daughters are able to live a dignified life and pursue their studies and careers in any field they desire and deem fit for them.

Appreciating Vistaraks and other party functionaries for their efforts to reach out to masses and spread programmes and policies of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in every nook and corner of the state, Yudhvir Sethi said that no society or nation can flourish without the contribution of women and Kashmir has remained witness to great achievements of women in almost every field. Queen Didda, Lal Ded, Habba Khatoon and Raj Begum are some of the names that are associated with Kashmir and will remain source of enlightenment for ages to come.

Kashmir, the BJP Vice President said is known as ‘Pir Waer’ – Alcove of Sufis and Saints, a status that needs to be retained despite all odds. “There had been attempts to vitiate peace in Kashmir and misguide our youth but it’s because of Kashmiriyat, our strong roots, moral values and ethos that Kashmir continues to blink on the international map and its people are making their presence felt around the globe in every field be it medicine, engineering, art, culture or handicrafts and handloom”.

Distt.President Baramullha Desh Nehru said there is a need of isolating anti-social forces and make our youth lead a dignified life wherein they could contribute for themselves, their families, state and nation. Highlighting the purpose of Vistaraks, he asserted that this programme is part of party chief Amit Shah’s programme wherein several thousand Vistaraks (fulltime workers) are apprising people of party’s programmes and policies all over the country including Jammu and Kashmir.

Arif Raja in-charge Vistarak Yogna North Kashmir said holding mass contact programmes intend to make people of Kashmir aware of state as well as central government’s sincerest efforts to help them live an honourable life wherein they could progress and prosper. This land of Sufis and Saints, he said was badly hit by cycle of violence. Since Kashmiriyat epitomises an age old norm of synergised coexistence that has been practiced in the Valley since times immemorial there was a need of building confidence amongst masses so that peace could return to this Heaven on Earth.
