Mahila Morcha will hold women’s marathon on “International Women’s Day”: Purnima Sharma

BJP Mahila Morcha led by its State President Adv. Purnima Sharma accompanied by Morcha State General Secretaries Veenu Khanna and Sanjita Dogra held a Press Conference at BJP headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.

Purnima Sharma conversed about the host of issues based on the women empowerment, role of BJP Mahila Morcha in the state and holding of a women marathon “Ek Daud, Rashtra Ke Naam” on International Women’s Day on 8th of March 2018.

Purnima Sharma while talking to the media persons said that in today’s scenario the status of women has changed a lot due to the increased awareness in the society. But still much work needs to be done as it can be gauged by seeing the atrocities on women in one or another instance. She emphasized that women have proved their excellence in every field today. Women have made their niche by their commitment and proved to be an asset to any institution, they are working for, she added.

Purnima Sharma also shared the moments from the episode of “Mann Ki Baat”, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi threw light on the “Women leadership and excellence”. She said that in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, BJP Mahila Morcha has always worked for the empowerment and safety with dignity for women.

Purnima Sharma also threw light on the importance for celebrating the “International Women’s Day”. She said that it celebrates the social, economical, cultural and political achievements of women. It focuses on accelerating the gender parity across the globe, she said. She also called upon various organizations to work for the cause of women.

Purnima Sharma also informed that the Mahila Morcha will hold a women marathon on 8th of March as “Ek Daud, Rashtra Ke Naam”. The marathon will start at Mubarak Mandi and after passing through various parts of the city through old city, will culminate at Mini Stadium, Parade. She stressed that the marathon is focused at projection of women awakening and empowerment through society. Sharma appealed to all the women to participate enmass in the marathon.
