In order to undertake party’s “Yaad Karo Qurbani” programme under Azaadi 70 to meet and felicitate kith and kin of martyrs, freedom fighters, INA heroes and ex- soldiers who have been conferred with gallantry/ bravery awards, Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, along with State Secretary & R.S. Pura District Prabhari Vikram Randhawa, Ex-MLA Ashwani Sharma and District President Brijeshwar Rana, met and facilitated the families of four martyrs in a function held at Bishnah in presence of a large number of party activist and general public.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, while lauding the role of the army and para-military forces personals, said that these are the people who get martyrdom while serving the nation. He
said that neither nation nor its citizens can forget the supreme sacrifices of the people who did not care for their families, friends, own lives but preferred to go ahead to lay down their lives for getting motherland freed. He said that not one or two but there are hundreds of such cases where it happened that brave soldier laid down his life just a few days ahead of his marriage or there were few who could not spent even few days at home after their marriage as the nation gave them call to go on borders and defend the sovereignty of motherland. Such jawans have set examples of their commitment towards the nation and we should come forward to extend every kind of help to their families besides organizing programmes in their memories at their birth places so that they live in the minds of the people and keep inspiring the young generations.
Vikram Randhawa said that the entire Jammu province has the large population of such families who have lost their dear ones in direct and proxy wars waged by our neighbours. He said that such heroes deserve salutes and honour.
Ex-MLA Ashwani Sharma said that the people who sacrifice their lives for the security of their countrymen and defend the borders are the ones who do not have any match as their contribution is not common. He said that these are the men in uniform who have shown the path and mean of serving the motherland. R.S. Pura District President Brijeshwar Rana, Madal Presidents Narain Dutt and Ramesh Saini, Kissan Morcha State Vice President Satish Bharti, Senior leader Raj Singh Langeh, Office bearers of District, Mahila Morcha, Yuva Morcha also attended the programme.
