On Thursday, BJP MLA from Nowshera Ravinder Raina laid the foundation of much awaited “Sodhra Bridge” at Sunderbani. This bridge is very important from Defense point of view and also for Civilians. This bridge connects the border roads with national highway and it was the long pending demand of this area for the construction of this bridge because during rainy season movement of defense vehicles & civil vehicles is not possible and common public and the military movement suffer badly. After winning the elections from Nowshera, Ravinder Raina repeatedly raised the issue of construction of Sodhra Bridge in J&K Assembly. Few days back, MLA Raina met with Union Defence Minister Sh. Manohar Parikar at New Delhi in this connection and later on Chief Engineer Border Roads Organisation Brig. Bishwas Bhattacharya visited the area and got sanctioned this bridge from the higher authority. Speaking on the occasion, Raina said it was my mission to construct the Sodhra Bridge at Sunderbani because for last more than forty years people of this area were demanding this bridge and soon after becoming MLA of the area, it was my top priority and I worked hard to get sanctioned for this bridge. Raina thanked the Union Defence Minister Sh. Manohar Parikar, top officials of Border Roads Organisation, and Chief Engineer BRO Brig. Bishwas Bhattacharya for their co-operation for sanctioning this bridge. On this occasion SDM Sunderbani Kartar Singh, Tehsildar Vijay Sharma, BRO Engineers Major Gurkripal Singh, Mr. Srivastav, Babu Ram & large number of locals were present.
