Modi fulfilling Mahatma’s dream of developing rural India: Dr Jitendra

Making a scathing attack on Congress, Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi’s cherished dream to develop the rural India at par with urban India is being fulfilled by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Addressing a function here, today in connection with National Panchayat Day, Dr Jitendra Singh said “Modi Ji is going to fulfill Mahatma’s dream which Congress could not do in its 65 years long rule at Centre”. He said the India’s progress is totally incomplete till we don’t pay attention towards the development of village while speaking at the concluding function of PM’s Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan. He said many schemes were launched by Modi Government for development of rural India. In this connection he highlighted Kissan Fasal Bima Yojna launched by Prime Minister recently. Besides, Old Age Pension Yojna, Mudra Yojna and host of various other schemes were launched by Government during last two years. These schemes are meant for development of the nation as a whole and to realize the Bapu’s dream, he added. Dr Singh said, moreover, by launching these welfare schemes the NDAGovernment has restored the esteem of common man. He said the 10 day long Abhiyan was launched on April 14 the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar across the country. He said the icons of Independent India like Dr Ambedkar who were ignored by earlier Congress led and supported Governments at Delhi even though they claimed to be their followers are being restored to their deserving status and position by Modi Government. Dr Singh, while highlighting PM’s Fasal Bhima Yojna said that farmers have to pay from 1.5 percent to two percent of the premium under this yojna and rest will be borne by the Government. The scheme has been launched to save farmers who were forced to suicide due to crop failure etc, he added. He announced that in his Kathua -Doda Parliamentary Constituency he will bear the premium of the needy farmers who are not in a position even to bear the minimum premium also. He urged the authorities to prepare the list of such farmers also. Dr Jitendra Singh said the India lives in villages and wholesome growth of the nation is not possible without the growth of the rural India. On various developmental projects launched in his Constituency, Dr Singh said Shahpur Kandi Project which was neglected for last three decades is being pursued by him vigorously. He said the tenders for Keeriyan Gandyal bridge will be floated soon while the land acquisition process for biotech park has started. Besides, the construction of toilet blocks in border belt has started and in the first phase 1120 toilets will be constructed in Hiranagar border belt at the cost of Rs four crore. Besides, the honorarium of SPOs and VDCs has been hiked and biogas plant is being set up at Kathua, he added. Earlier, Dr Singh inaugurated a photo exhibition organized by district administration in collaboration with Rural Development Department highlighting the various development projects and schemes of State and Central Government. Dr Singh said Panchayati Raj Institutions are vital for ensuring rural development and all stake holders should work for capacity development and empowerment of rural masses. Earlier, MLA Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia in his address stressed on the need to have active participation of stake holders in development drive especially in rural areas. He said Modi Government is first political dispensation in the country after Atal Behari Vajpayee’s Government which took keen interest in public welfare by launching many welfare projects. He said Shahpur Kandi will be the agenda in next Cabinet meeting as it is the long standing demand of the people of the area. Earlier, DC Kathua, Ramesh Kumar gave a brief account of the progress achieved under several Centrally sponsored schemes. Sarpanchs Raghunandan Singh, Vijay Singh, Dilip Singh and Mohan Singh also spoke on the occasion. BJP district president Prem Nath Dogra in his address said that it was Mr Modi who gave international identity to Dr Ambedkar. The function was also attended by various civil and police officers.
