Nepotism is major hinderance in making welfare state: Kavinder Gupta

Speaker J&K, Legislative Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta inspected various works in his constituency and interacted with locals at Nanak Nagar, Channi Himmat, Gadhi Garh and other places.

Accompanied by the officers of JMC, PDD, PHE, UEED and Town Drainage, he visited various localities and took a look at the progress of works being undertaken by these departments.
He gave green signal to the work for dismantling of slab of deep drains at different locations in Gandhi Nagar which created havoc during rainy season; causing loss of property worth crores of rupees, these covered deep drains have became the night mare for local population and they have been covered with a sole motive of benefiting few people and others were forced to spent a miserable life under the shadow of fear as the flood water created menace in the adjoining areas of these drains, he added.
Residents appreciated the efforts of the MLA and expressed their gratitude for getting the illegal structure cleared which came up twice over this deep drain at Nanak Nagar near Shivaji Chowk despite being resisted by the local population; “we are very thankful to you for taking up this issue seriously and getting the structure removed from here and today the slab is also going to get clear.”, locals said.
While interacting with the locals, Gupta said that the previous MLA who represented this constituency for two continuous terms; started considering himself as the sole authority and did things for benefiting his blue eyed people in conveyance with few corrupt officers and promoted the term “Nepotism.”

He said, the government is well aware of its promises and any hindrance coming in between the development will not be accepted. Lethargic attitude and unprofessional-ism in the working of the government officers will not be tolerated, in case they don’t mend their behaviour, the same will be considered as dead wood and their names will be recommended for termination from services, he added.
Stressing that every roadblock which kills the larger objective will be taken care of and the smallest things will be given equal importance in this government and for achieving this goal the cooperation from general public is of very much importance, he said. JCA, JMC, R S Jamwal; X-En, JMC, CTO, JMC; Baldev Billoria, Surjeet Chowdhary, Ankush Gupta were prominent among others who were present.
