Promises made with people to be fullfilled on priority: Sunil

Minister for Science and Technology and Transport (Independent Charge), Sunil Kumar Sharma, today reiterated that he will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling every single poll promise he made to people of Kishtwar constituency. He said this while addressing a gathering after visiting Helipad Kishtwar near historical Chowgan Ground with DC GM Balwan, ADC Kishori Lal Sharma and XEn R&B Mahinder Kumar. The much awaited 26 seater airstrip project having length 900 m and width 20 m will be completed at an approximate cost of Rs 2 crore besides 15 lakhs for fencing. He expressed hope that with the completion of this project, it will prove a boon to deal with emergency situations and particularly in saving precious lives in case of emergency and also during untoward incidents in this hilly constituency. “The project will also be a big boom for tourism sector in Kishtwar area and definitely will bring this area on world’s tourism map. Keeping in view the sinking Batote Kishtwar Highway Airstrip will act as life line to the area. What we had promised is going to be turn in reality soon”, he added. Highlighting the achievements of coalition Government, he said that in recent past various developments have added boost to the hopes of peoples especially in rural area whether it was mobile Tower installation in Marwah area or important foot bridges in Padder area besides 100 bedded hospital for Mandal Kishtwar or blacktopping with new norms of 3 inches while Water pipeline project has already completed its 1km journey towards Kishtwar from Dool Naigad and work is going on war footing basis. “Funds have been allocated to take care of the National Highway. In addition to this an alternate National Highway project is under consideration for which already required steps have been taken”, Sharma said adding that to provide employment to unemployed youths two major hydro projects are in pipeline which will also boost the economy of the area. Sharma laid stress on development of tourist infrastructure in the area to attract the tourists particularly those visiting Himachal Pradesh. He asked the Tourism Department to develop world class tourism infrastructure on Chamba-Bhaderwah road so that tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh can also visit Chenab valley region.
