Sat chairs meeting of Hospital Development Board GMC, also tours Emergency & Chopra Nursing Home

To take stock of the upcoming works to be done for the welfare of patients and attendants in Government Medical College, a meeting of the Hospital Development Committee was held in the Committee Hall of GMC which was chaired by State President BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA), officiating Chairman of the Hospital. Officials including Principal Dr Sunanda Raina, Medical Superintendent Dr Ramesh Gupta and concerning in charge of various other departments of GMC and other associated hospitals were also present in the meeting.

A discussion pertaining to the starting of upcoming developmental works in GMC was made so that in coming times the patients coming from various parts of the State should not face any problems in the future. He said that a provision out of Hospital Development Fund has been made by the Hospital Development Board for the upcoming developmental works to be taken in the Hospital.

He stated that decisions finalized in the meeting include engagement of 12 need based semi-skilled workers to run engineering services in the Hospital. Repair/painting of existing trolleys, wheel chairs, Hospital Beds, Examination couches and office furniture for which a provision of Rupees 2 lakhs has been made. A provision of Rupees 2 lakhs for repair of all damaged doors in the hospital. A provision of Rupees 0.50 lakhs for purchase of fly catchers. A provision of Rupees 3 lakhs for purchase of sanitation items, plumbing and Carpentry items for which a direction to Ex En Civil has been passed to prepare the estimates for the same. A provision of Rupees 2 lakhs for purchase and repair of electrical items in the Hospital for which estimates will be submitted by Ex En Mechanical. A provision of 0.50 lakhs for purchase of flower pots. Appointment of six trolley boys on minimum wages. Appointing four porters for transporting stores material to different patient areas. Payments on account of transporting and treating the Bio-Medical waste generated out of the Hospital to the tune of Rupees 1.56 lakhs. Rupees 1 lakhs for repair of oxygen/suction point/ Nitrous oxide points installed at various points in the Hospital for which estimates will be submitted by Ex En Mechanical. White Washing of rooms at Chopra Nursing Home. Repairs of CSSD (Central Sterile Supply Department) at cost of Rupees 2 lakhs. Appointment of 20 Safai Karamcharis and 20 security guards for Hospital for which a committee has been framed.

The BJP leader also stressed upon cleanliness in the Hospital premises so that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Swach Bharat Abhiyaan” could be promoted. He also directed the concerned authorities of the Hospital to take a serious note on cleanliness around the Hospital which is one of the major concerns in the premises. The BJP MLA also assured that any extra necessary help to improve the infrastructure of the hospital will be done and the help of Minister of Health and Medical Education will also be taken in this regard.

He also toured the hospital premises including Emergency and Chopra Nursing Home along with the senior officials and checked their conditions as well. He also directed the authorities to immediately take up the remaining works in the Hospital so that public inconvenience could be avoided.
