Sat Sharma undertakes cleanliness drive

In a programme, jointly organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation and BJP Jammu West District, BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A), undertook cleanliness drive in Kabir Basti, B.C. Road, Jammu under “Gramoday Se Bharat Uday” campaign. He also distributed forms for availing assistance for construction of toilets for the poor people besides making people aware of various welfare schemes launched by PM Narendra Modi.
Sat Sharma was also briefed about the problems and needs related to the sanitation and basic amenities in the area.
This programme was part of last phase of the nation-wide ten days series, which commended on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti and is to conclude on Panchayat Divas falling on April 24.
Sat Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, said that the BJP led NDA government at the Centre has displayed its concern and commitment for the welfare, social and economic upliftment of the Scheduled Castes and weaker sections and the same is clear from the fact that the government has kept provisions in budget for welfare schemes in the name of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He said that Dr. Ambedkar had fought against injustice in society and stood for equality and dignity and the BJP wants that such leaders should get due respect and honour.
Sat Sharma said that different programmes like Samrasta Divas, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Sports Events etc. have been organized to highlight the importance of social brotherhood, cleanliness, pollution free environment, development and welfare of villages and providing better facilities similar to those in Urban areas with an objective to lessen the gap between Urban and Rural population.
State Secretary Sanjay Baru and District President Ayodhya Gupta said that the areas housing the population of SCs and weaker sections need more focus in matters related to development and sanitation and it is in this context that the BJP has selected such localities for undertaking cleanliness and helping the people in getting benefits for construction of toilets etc.
JMC Joint Commissioner R.S. Jamwal, Health Officer Dr. Jafar Iqbal, Chief Transport Officer Mohd. Talat, BJP leaders Yudhvir Sethi, N.D. Rajwal, Subash Jandial, Sanjeev Sharma, Prem Gupta, Jaideep Samyal, S. Amrik Singh, Surinder Bhagat, Pardeep Gupta, Puneet Gupta, Akshay Sharma, Jeet Angral, Raj Kumar, Prithvi Raj Duggal and Parshottam Thappa were present on the occasion.
Similarly, State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, during his three day touring of Udhampur district, led party activists in organizing programmes under “Gramoday Se Bharat Uday”
