Serving humanity is need of an hour : Priya

Bharat Sevashram Sangha Panjgrain, Nagrota, Jammu today organised a glittering function to celebrate 120th birth Anniversary of Yogacharya Srimat Swami Pranvananda Ji Maharaj.

Priya Sethi M.L.A & former MOS for Education, Information and Culture was the Chief Guest and Sh Yudhvir Sethi State Vice President BJP was the Guest of honor.
The programme was started with Puja and Arti in traditional style of BSS which was held under the aegis of the Saint Srimat Swami Shresananda JI Maharaj.
While speaking on the occasion, Priya appreciated the social work done by the Organisation by reaching to the affected community members at the time of the natural calamities in the State. Serving people, who are socially deprived and economically weak through running health care institution is also appreciable, she added.
“I express my sincere feelings of appreciation on this occasion to the Bharat Sevashram and its organizers for all they have attempted for welfare of the mankind”, she added.
In his address, Yudhvir said that the Sevashram is involved in various social activities and is running a charitable school based on values. He day the need of the hour is to make the children aware about rich cultural heritage of the land.
“We must inculcate high ethos of our cultural heritage in our next generations so that our children know about our rich heritage,” he added.
He said that the Yatri Niwas caters to the needs of the pilgrims coming to visit Mata Vaishno Devi ji is also a good facility provided by the Organisation.
Speaking on the occasion, H.C Katoch Trustee and President of the J&K Chapter of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha Panjgrain Nagrota welcomed the Chief Guest . He threw light on the life of the founder of BSS Yogacharya Srimat Swami Pranvananda Ji Maharaj and the activities of Sangha in J&K State. He mentioned about the distribution of relief material and establishment of langars for the uprooted people in the State especially in Jammu Division during the last year’s natural calamity in the state. Medicines were sent to Srinagar also at that time. The BSS also distributed Blankets, Tarpaulins, Mats Utensils, clothes and other items during earthquake in Doda District, Inderjeet Sharma Trustee organized the event. Ms. Sunila Sharma Vice President SEEAS and Sh Rajesh Verma Publicity Secretary arranged the event of local folk song group.
A colourful programme of Bhajan Kirtan was also held where the school children took part. Besides this, the rural folk song groups brought by SEEAS (A Voluntary Organisaztion) also made the occasion very attractive.
In the conclusion of the programme, prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to the school children, faculty members and the rural folk song groups. Later the participants were served Prasad of the Bhandara.
