Sh. C.P Ganga exhorts people to adopt sanitation initiatives as an integral part of their lives

Appreciates Distt Admn for successful conduct of Swachhta Hi Seva

 Expressing optimism that all will not confine the unprecedented nationwide campaign “Swachhta Hi Seva” to mere a matter of 15 days only, Minister for Industries and Commerce  emphasized the need of adopting these sanitation initiatives as an integral part of our lives so that our nation emerges as a beautiful, clean and neat country.

          “ Our today’s efforts towards Swachhta   Abhyan would be the most valuable gift to our next generations”, the Minister opined while making a fervent appeal to all to continue this campaign with the same spirit as cleanliness is not only the responsibility of sanitation personnel and government departments but it is a multi-stakeholder national movement.

          The Minister was addressing the people during celebration of Swachhta Hi Seva campaign at Samba being conducted by the district administration.

           Dismaying over casual approach of most of the people towards the significance of sanitation for human survival, the Minister exhorted upon all to strictly refrain themselves from unclean and unhealthy habits which would only lead them towards a dark and destructive future.

          Referring to rapid developmental transformation and technological advancements as major threat to Nature and its assets, the Minister said that Nature is the worst victim of today’s development and the time has come to ponder upon the issue seriously and take up immediate remedial measures in this regard. “Development must not be done at the cost of Nature and hence our existence but there must be a balance between the both for survival of mankind”, he maintained. He said that development must be taken up in such a way that it must not harm Nature, livestock, wild life, environment and humanity as well.

          The Minister, while describing Open defecation as hazardous for our society, necessitated mass participation and awareness for making an end to this menace and making India Open Defecation Free nation by 2029. Although, he appreciated the role and support of youth to government agencies in curbing this menace to a great extend but emphasized the need to further intensify such efforts to achieve the goal.

          “Cooperation and efforts of people in success of government’s endeavors apparently reflects their firm faith in the policies and vision of Prime Minister, Narender Modi”, the Minister asserted.

          The Minister expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of this fortnightly campaign and hoped that this will bring in much required attitudinal change among the mindsets of people encouraging them to ensure cleanliness in their houses, public places, villages and citiesfor their overall prosperity. “Achieving the goal of Swachh Bharat Mission expeditiously will be an appropriate tribute to the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi”, he maintained.

          Earlier, the Minister pasted stickers on Swachhta Hi Seva on several vehicles on the National Highway.
