As part of the ongoing special outreach campaign, launched by the Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, the Field Publicity Unit, Udhampur, started a two day long campaign at Government Higher Secondary School, Chenani. Member Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas, inaugurated the campaign and said that coverage of far flung areas through such IEC activities, gives a wide spread of information & awareness among the masses. “These campaigns need to be launched with active coordination and cooperation of district administration and it becomes the responsibility of district administration to shoulder their responsibilities in making such awareness campaigns fruitful and result oriented,” he added. MLA Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat, who was the guest of honour, said that schemes launched by the Government of India are now being implemented in a proper way without wastage of time. While addressing, R P Saroj, Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, urged upon the audience to act as ambassadors and message carries so that the information and awareness of these schemes are provided to masses at grass root level. Earlier, Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, DFP, spoke about the importance of such campaigns. She informed the audience that from June, 2016, Directorate of Field Publicity has already launched 5 such campaigns in Budgam, Bhaderwah, Leh, Kalakote and Jagti areas of the State. To disseminate information through IEC activities, expert lectures by representative of State Bank of India, J&K Bank, Health Department, JKEDI were delivered by Resource persons to make gathering aware of such schemes which have been initiated in their respective areas. Stalls by Health Department, SBI, JKB, Rural Development, Post Office and ICDS Department were another attraction of the programme. On the spot, cheque by SBI under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana were also distributed by Shamsher Singh. Theme based cultural presentations by Ramalo Ram and party enthralled the audience with their performances.
