Member of Parliament Shamsher Singh Manhas and Minister of State for Transport Sunil Sharma today conducted an extensive tour Paddar area of Kishtwar to review the pace of developmental works and have a firsthand appraisal of the problems of people. Accompanied by a team of district administration led by Deputy Commissioner, GN Balwan, they visited Machail, Kabban, Ungai and Gulab Garh areas. The MP and Minister met with the local people and took stock of problems being faced by them. The locals raised several demands including better road connectivity, availability of ration round the year, opening of employment avenues for youth of the area, upgraded healthcare facilities, improvement in supply of water and electricity besides many others. Responding to the demands, Shamsher Singh said that a network of roads connecting the adjoining areas of Paddar has been sanctioned under PMGSY and work on these projects is expected to start soon. He further directed the concerned to submit DPR of roads for the left out villages of the area. Regarding the availability of the staff in schools and health facilities, he assured the public that the strengthening of such institutions will be done on priority. Later, the MP along with MoS Sunil Sharma held a meeting with the heads of all the line departments and reviewed the pace of developmental works in the area. They directed them to expedite and increase the pace of ongoing works to ensure time bound completion. They also directed the officers to start work on the allotted projects so that people are benefitted at the earliest. Reminding people of the various achievements in the recent past like installation of VHF mobile Tower in Machail, inauguration of Receiving Station at Paddar, sanctioning of model college, various MHEP for district Kishtwar among others, the MP congratulated the MoS and the district administration for their tremendous work and expected the same level of commitment in future as well.
