Sports package will benefit youth of J&K: Sat Sharma

BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma said that the Jammu and Kashmir is privileged enough that it has been considered as one of the most favoured state by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in matters related to sanctioning of packages, developmental projects and welfare schemes. “During the last over two years, record number of projects and welfare schemes have been sanctioned for our state”, said Sat Sharma and added that PM has a dream of taking J&K to new heights of development, bring progress and prosperity and various projects and schemes sanctioned so far by him are the indicators of PM’s commitment towards it.
Sat Sharma said that the recent announcement of rupees 200 crore special package for sports in Jammu and Kashmir is one such project which will prove to be beneficial for youth of the state in particular. He said that the package provides for construction of indoor sporting halls in all the districts besides upgradation of two stadiums to the level of international standards. Not only this, the package has also provision for upgradation of stadiums at Poonch, Rajouri and Udhampur districts. This package has also earmarked rupees six crore for introducing water sport facilities.
Sat Sharma said that there a large number of youth in the state who is inclined towards various sports and there is very high scope of producing sportsmen of the international and national standards but lack of basis infrastructure creates obstacles to bring out the hidden capability of the youth. The special package is going to be a big boost for sports activities. It will also attract and provide facilities to the misguided youth of Kashmir to engage themselves in sports rather than wasting time in such activities which are of no use for them.
The BJP State President, while expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for announcing such a special package and expressed hope that each penny of 200 crore package will be utilizes judiciously.
