Fulfilling its resolve of providing financial assistance to the tune of rupees 5 lakh to each bereaved families of Subedar Karnail Singh of Shibuchak falling in Bishnah and Havaldar Ravi Pal of Saarba village of Samba Assembly Constituency, the State BJP leadership reached their native villages to handover individual cheques to the widows of these martyrs, who laid down their lives in Uri attack last month.

BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Minister of Industries & Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga, BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Kaul, Samba MLA Dr. Davinder Manyal and Ex-MLA Ashwani Sharma, visited Shibuchak and Sarba villages to personally handover these cheques.

While the party on its own had passed a resolution in its working committee to provide rupees 5 lakh assistance to each family of the two jawans hailing from Jammu who lost their lives during Uri attack, it was stressing on the state government to provide ex-gratia compensation to these martyrs and the Deputy Chief Minister was following the same within the government and the same has been achieved.

Dr. Nirmal Singh, on these occasions, said that it has happened for the first time in the history of J&K that any government has honoured the sensitivity of its coalition partner, the BJP, and unanimously taken a cabinet decision to treat the martyrs of army and other central security forces at par with those of J&K Police and provide them ex-gratia of rupees 5 lakh and a job under SRO-43 to one of the member of the bereaved family. He said that although rupees 5 lakh cannot provide succor for long but a government job under SRO-43 will prove a lifelong assistance to the affected family.

Jugal Kishore Sharma, said that one of the major achievement of Narendra Modi led government is decision of rupees 5 lakh compensation to the civilians who lose their life as result of firing from across the border. How much concerned the Modi government has been towards the border people can be well judged from the fact that innovative and most beneficial schemes have been launched for the welfare and economic security of the farmers and border people.
