Tourist Spots Created Through Huge Investment Need Proper Care: Vibodh

BJP party workers of Rajouri rural mandal participated in a major campaign to clean a tourist park at Mankote in Sadyal. This cleanliness campaign was led by BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta. More than 100 party leaders and workers participated in this day long campaign and cleaned the entire park. After collection of the huge quantity of garbage, it was disposed off properly. Addressing the participants of this cleanliness campaign Vibodh informed that the Mankote park in Rajouri was created with a estimated cost of Rs. 10 crore, is in a real bad shape today. He further added that at the time of creation of this park 11 daily wage workers were employed. But from the past five years they are also out of this service. Currently there is no one who can take care of this massive assets created by tourism department. This he said has defeated the very purpose behind the creation of such a park. Vibodh also highlighted the fact that in a area like Pir Panjal such assets can play a very vital role in tourism promotion. This he said can lead to job creation in various areas of tourism in Pir Panjal. He regretted that due to short term planning of our planners such huge investments remain of no use. He called upon Hon’ble CM Madam Mehbooba Mufti who also hold the tourism portfolio in the state to look into this matter and direct the concerned officials to take all necessary steps to ensure that such vital tourism properties are maintained properly.
BJP District General Secretary Atam Gupta while appreciating the efforts of the volunteers in such a initiative thanked the participants for their sincere efforts in cleaning the park. He hoped that such initiatives will help in creating awareness among the common masses about Swatch Bharat Abhayan and will encourage the civil society to value such assets. Prominent among other who participated in the programme included Kewal Sharma, Balbir Kumar, Danish Tara, Bodhraj, Makhan Singh, Mohiudin and Rakesh Kumar. Officials of Rajouri Muncipality, Horticulture and Tourism departments also participated in this one day cleanliness campaign.
