Will work to revive the Folk, Culture and tradition of Jammu :Dr. Gagan

On Thursday at the Government Higher Secondry School R.S Pura a “Three Day” Cultural programme was organized by the Union Ministry of Culture in which M.L.A R.S Pura & Political Advisor to State BJP President Dr.Gagan Bhagat was the Chief Guest on the occasion. While addressing the gathering Dr.Gagan Bhagat said that organizing cultural programmes among students would strengthen their ability to face competition. He said that in the past, students had opportunity to expose their talent only through sports. But many students, who could not participate in sports events, were unable to show their talent. Organizing cultural events in schools periodically would help students exhibit their talents. He said that there is a need to identify talent among students and encourage them to develop their talents and there was a need to encourage students, especially from rural areas, to take active participation in such cultural programmes.He called upon the N.G.O’s Cultural & Education department to create more opportunities for students, especially from rural areas.The teachers should identify the talent among the student in very stage so that particular child is taken care of. While also talking on the Prime Ministers initiative of “BETI BACHAO-BETI PADHAO” ,he said that ,still girls had less opportunity to participate in the educational and cultural competitions and it is the need of the hour to promote the girls coming the rural belt and the R.S Pura is the perfect place to begin from. The parents and teachers should create more opportunities for girls,and there should a good atmosphere for the girls in particular. “There are various art forms in the Jammu district and they are on the verge of extinction for want of encouragement. They have to be protected and propagated.” He commended the work of Department of Culture in reviving art and helping artistes by arranging various programmes.Dr.Sudhir Mahajan of the Samooh theatre, in his introductory speech, said students from rural areas had done better than their counterparts from towns in the district in cultural programmes.He said that it is target that 1,500 students from various high schools in the district should participate in the cultural programme. A majority of students, who had come from rural areas, were enthusiastic to take part in the cultural events.The programme was the first to be ever held at R.S Pura , and the local residents gave the credit to the MLA RS Pura Dr.Gagan Bhagat,who also assured that these kind of Cultural and Folk events will be held at small villages so that those people should feel that government is thinking for the rural community.

The artists who participated in the said event were very enthusiastic about the crowd and the atmosphere which they got at the R.S Pura, and promised that will like to visit again at this border town.The school students also welcomed the inititive taken by the Legislator, and they were in the opinion that after many years some one has been thinking about the youths, and if they are thinking about us , we will also ensure that he will be always there from R.S Pura, said “Abhinandan Singh” one of the students who were present on the event.One girl student “Swati Choudhary” said that really these type of programme boost the, and if given a chance she will certainly like to perform on the stage and show her dance which she considers that she has talent for dance, and many more studenst also gave the similar opinions regarding the Cultural event at the R.S Pura.On the occasion Principal GBHSS RS Pura Nirmal Singh, Principal GGHSS Poonam Sharma, ZEO RS Pura Ranjeet Kour,Tehsildaar RS Pura Abhishek Abrol,E.O RS Pura Jodhraj, BDO RS Pura Sanchi Mishra,CDPO RS Pura Jasmeet Singh, TSWO Vidhya Devi, Presidents and Members of Various NGOs running in the Sub-District R.S Pura,various prominent persons of the town,Brijesh Rana, Natharam,Inder Sudan,Avtaar Singh,Balakram,Garu Ram.
