Work on proposed development plan for Bagh-e-Bahu to start soon: Priya

Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi visited Bagh-e-Bahu Park at Jammu and took stock of the facilities available there. During her visit to the park, the Minister directed the concerned officers to upgrade the facilities for the visitors and pilgrims and make the park more attractive so that the visitors spend more time there. While discussing the proposal for the development of Bagh-e-Bahu, the Minister said construction work under the proposal will be started soon. She also discussed the proposed Musical Fountain with laser show project and directed the concerned to complete the formalities so that the work on the project is started at the earliest. She said parks are the lungs of the Jammu city which need to be equipped with basic amenities like relaxing and viewing spots, landscaping and plantation. She also stressed for creating special recreational facilities for the children, who visit these parks for excursions. The Minister further directed the Floriculture Department to develop major parks in and around Jammu city on modern lines to attract the large number of tourists visiting Jammu in connection with pilgrimage of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and other revered shrines. She said there is adequate potential in the adjoining areas of Jammu city which needs to be explored for the larger interest of local people and tourists. Later, Priya Sethi also paid a surprise visit to the kitchen of J&K Tourism Development Corporation, Zaiqa Cafetaria and asked the management to serve quality food to the visitors. The Minister went around each and every area of the park and instructed the concerned for further improvements wherever required.
